Kumihimo Braiding

Kumihimo is the ancient art of Japanese braiding. These highly decorative braids have strength and flexibility and have always been admired for their usefulness and beauty. In class we will incorporate beads and you will learn round Kumihimo, the most basic of the Kumihimo braids. This is a beginner class, no experience necessary.

Lombard Street Earrings

Named for their San Francisco counterpart, these earrings are the crookedest in the world! Students will create a frame of heavy gauge wire, then will learn to embellish it with beads on a smaller gauge wire. They're pretty quick to make, you won't want to stop with just one.

This tubular chain is named for the look of its open weave. It comes together quickly, and is a great addition to your chain making skills.

Wire Wrapped Cabochon

This class will teach you how to do a basic border wrap of a glass or stone cabochon. You will learn how to set bindings around 3 or more strands of sterling silver wire that will form a bezel around your choice of cabochon. You will also learn how to make a bail that is incorporated in the design. The finished product will be a sterling silver pendant slide that you can include in a beaded necklace.

Byzantine Wave Chain

This chain is a variation of the Byzantine chain, but it has far more shape than its namesake. The sides undulate in and out symmetrically, creating gaps between parts of the chain which are perfect for adding beads.

Silver Art Clay is ground silver mixed with an organic binder that can be shaped and used along with your beading. The finished fired product is fine silver (.999 pure).
